Mr. Khalil Farkhundah started learning ITF TKD in Ustaad Abdul Wassey's classes in Polytechnic of Kabul, Afghanistan in 1981 (1360). Then he joined Mr. Davoud Paryani's Dojang which was located at Barbour Shah's garden in 1984 (1363) he got his brown belt and graduating from Kabul University moving to his home town of (Herat) and establishing his very first Dojang in Enqlaab high school. Since there was no Federation in Afghanistan he got his first black belt certificate through WTF instructors who visited (Heart) in 1985. Mr. Khalil has taught the art of TKD for many years and has established Furkhundah ITF TKD Association, which consist of so many Dojangs in Heart and had so many students. Since the situation in the country was getting worse and worse most of the student left the country and learned deferent styles too. Mr. Khalil has trained teams of practitioners for competitions inside the country and has come with good results. Even some of the practitioners were chosen for the national team of Afghanistan. ITF TKD practitioners being pushed to change their ITF method of the art to WTF by the deferent groups of the governments authorities on power, even made by law for being jailed for the practice of it, therefore the ITF members have tough time to keep the art alive among the Afghans. But the eagerness of the people in the art does not let the art to die and still it is alive as it has been since very beginig. Hopefully one day ITF is practiced in Afghanistan as it is in other developed countries, as ITF has its own competitions, courses, seminars etc which is not dependent on any governments and eventually there is a strong team of ITF TKD in Afghanistan.
